Ride for Loktak

The "Ride for Loktak" from Kangla to Thanga Karang was a significant highlight of the Loktak Day Festival 2022. The event commenced with a formal flag-off ceremony at Kangla, officiated by esteemed personalities including Mr. Heikham Dingo Singh (MLA), Mr. Robindro (MLA), Mr. Sapam Kunjakeswor Singh (MLA), and Mr. M. Ashnikumar, Chairman of the Loktak Development Authority (LDA). Their presence underscored the importance of the festival and the ride in promoting awareness and appreciation for Loktak Lake.

Following the arrival at Thanga, the riders were warmly welcomed with a light breakfast. The group then proceeded to Chaoba Ching, where a sumptuous lunch was served. This provided an excellent opportunity for participants to relax and refuel, fostering a sense of community and camaraderie among the riders.

Following lunch, a recognition ceremony was held to honor the participating clubs. Certificates and mementos were awarded, acknowledging their contributions and involvement in the event. This formal ceremony highlighted the significance of each club's participation and their commitment to the cause.

The day's events continued with an engaging entertainment program in the morning, featuring a performance by Rhythms of Manipur. This cultural display added a vibrant touch to the proceedings, enriching the overall experience for the attendees. The afternoon was spent exploring Thanga, appreciating the natural beauty and cultural heritage of the area.

As evening approached, the festivities continued with an entertainment program that included a fashion showcase by renowned artists and musical concerts. These events provided a platform for showcasing local talent and creativity, adding a festive and celebratory atmosphere to the festival. Our club played a crucial role in assisting the organizers with the setup and coordination of the event, ensuring its smooth execution. The collaborative effort resulted in a well-organized and memorable experience for all participants. The "Ride for Loktak" was not only a celebration of Loktak Lake but also a testament to the power of community and collective action in promoting environmental awareness and cultural appreciation.
